I want to dedicate this blog entry to my father Wendell Abbott who passed away August 23, 2011.
Dad was not a man that would stand out as superior by many of societies standards. He only had an 8th grade education and worked in average blue-collar jobs that paid the bills, but not much more than that.

I want to dedicate this blog entry to my father Wendell Abbott who passed away August 23, 2011.
Dad was not a man that would stand out as superior by many of societies standards. He only had an 8th grade education and worked in average blue-collar jobs that paid the bills, but not much more than that.
To me though he stood above any man I have known. I respected him and learned from his example because he instructed by action rather than words. He taught me to work hard; to face disappointment by standing up and trying again; to have the balance of self-respect yet putting others first; to have an inner strength that does not need to boast; to make everyone around him feel special because he believed they were; to laugh and enjoy life; to take care of the family regardless of the cost; to be directed by faith in God, integrity and honesty. God was gracious to me by giving me a healthy snapshot of Himself in my earthly dad, Wendell Abbott.
